Description
The 17 Pro Max keeps the 6.9-inch OLED screen, same resolution as before, but it’s noticeably brighter. Up to 3,000 nits when you’re outdoors. Apple also mentions that this screen’s contrast is twice as good in sunlight. The display is now protected by a 3x more scratch-resistant Ceramic Shield 2 glass, while the back panel gets the Ceramic Shield treatment. The exact display resolution is 2868 x 1320 pixels at 460 ppi, with an anti-reflective coating and IP68 water resistance (up to 6m for 30 minutes).
Interestingly enough, the Cupertino-based tech giant has decided to ditch the more expensive Titanium body this time for a 7000-series aluminum body on both the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple specifically chose aluminum over titanium for better thermal management and heat dissipation, with the aluminum being heat-forged for strength and thermal conductivity.
